Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

By using the CrossWise app or this website you agree to these terms.

Predictions are estimates, not safety information

CrossWise provides estimates of when level crossing barriers may be down. Predictions can be wrong or unavailable. Never rely on CrossWise to decide whether it is safe to cross. Always obey crossing signals, barriers and signs, and never cross when lights are flashing, an alarm is sounding or barriers are lowered.

Use of the service

Use CrossWise lawfully and for personal purposes. Do not bypass app integrity checks, scrape or overload the service, or reverse engineer it except as the law allows.

Trials and subscriptions

Some features may be offered as a free trial or paid subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing, renewal and refunds follow the store's terms.

Data sources

CrossWise uses rail industry data feeds, which may contain errors or delays and are used under their licences. CrossWise is not affiliated with Network Rail or any train operator.

Availability and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty and may change or be unavailable at any time. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or delay arising from use of, or reliance on, the service. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
